Greetings!

We hope this message finds you well and are in need of a new place to find good eats and live performances. Over the weekend we decided to stop at A’s Place in Manyunk to explore their food. Having heard great things about this newly established “Black Owned” Restaurant we made it our mission to support them.

Before we begin let me put this disclaimer out: A’s Place, and management had no incline we were surprising them. We didn’t make any form of reservations or announced who we were when we arrived.

A’s Place Restaurant Bar Lounge is conveniently located at: 3720 Main Street. Right next to United Artist Main Street Movie theater. This location is ideal for date night.  Did I mention parking is free?  That’s always a perk.

We arrived around 10:30 pm on Saturday the 11th of March. A’s place was packed with patrons who were attending the comedy show. Laughter filled the air, and good vibes were quickly contagious.

We were acknowledged upon arrival by the event coordinator.  Sadly she expressed to us: ” Tonight is a private event. Typically there’s no cover charge, but tonight we have a comedy show so you would incur an additional expense to dine.” We then explained without disclosing the purpose of our trip that we were looking forward to exploring their menu.  The event coordinator improvised, and found an opportunity to accommodate us.

Now due to our lack of preparation, and impromptu visit we were content with whatever the outcome would  be. It was nice that she went above the call of duty for us to patronize A’s Place. This may not be the case at all time, so please don’t do as we did. lol  We want you to experience the best this place has to offer.

VIP treatment is what we received considering the circumstances.  We felt welcomed. We were seated upstairs in one of their private rooms.  As we sat down we were captivated by the lovely Arts. Very jazzy! and abstract

The customer service here is impeccable! Vera was who serviced us. Southern Hospitality at it’s best! Starting with how we were treated, coupled with a warm smile and attentiveness; This was the beginning of a beautiful food relationship.

We ordered the following:

Drinks

Tropical Margaritas: Properly poured and well presented with garnishes. Deliciously made.

Food

• Crab Cake: Two 4oz. jumbo lump cakes drizzled with their house lobster sauce served with our choice of collard greens.  It felt good eating it. We consciously prepared room for more. Itty bitty bites of deliciousness perfectly seasoned to entice you. We recommend this to any crab cake lover. If you’re health conscious feel better with a side of southern flavored collard greens.

• Rosemary Lamb: Full rack of rosemary infused lamb. “medium” was what we requested.  “Medium” done was prepared and executed.
• Buttery lamb chops that will simply melt in your mouth. How delighted we were! we were having such a good time, we didn’t realized 20 min had past, and was the required time to cook our lamb.  We could not find one flaw about this place.

Black gloves service in your backyard. This was our first time going to A’s  Place, but most certainly will not be the last. They offer:
