215SASS received a personal invitation from Executive Chef: Tim Thomas on Sunday, March 5th 2017 to explore his Sunday’s Brunch Menu. Some of Philly’s best food enthusiast and media influencers were present.

Southern Belle is the newest and hottest BYOB in the Jenkintown area. Conveniently located at 700West Ave, this restaurant is definitely “the new”home away from home. The location is perfect, and parking was easy to find.

Upon entering we were greeted with a warm smile, and welcomed with open arms by Chef: Tim Thomas. Before I could find my assigned seat I had a glass of complimentary mimosa in my hand.  I was instantly impressed by the length of time it took  him to realize my hand was in need of a glass of wine.

I had an intense desire to consume all that this place had to offer. The decor is spectacular! very warm and inviting. The aroma of the food was simply divine. Luckily I came with an appetite, and for sure I knew with such great hospitality the food would not disappoint.

Tasting #1

Before me was: Sweet Potato muffins with Molasses Butter. First of all, What! ” Molasses butter?” I immediately requested this to go. Yes! I’m aware it’s not a take-out menu. DELICIOUSNESS on another level. My pallets were extremely thankful to have experience such.

Tasting #2

Who doesn’t love deviled eggs? Omg! Tim presented: Blue Crab deviled eggs and i could not maintain my composure. SASSiliCious! they were made by gods….lol He was generous with the crab meat too, and even offered me more of it.

Tasting #3

Sausage (Chicken) Casserole with white gravy.  This was my first time having this concoction. It was well put together and very tasty. If you do not eat pork, the Chef can substitute the pork with shrimp.

Tasting #4

Tater tot hash with shrimp, spicy andouille sausage, tomato, cheddar cheese, and 2 eggs.  Visually pleasing and well presented. I dived in this bowl of deliciousness faster than a swimmer. I couldn’t wait to devour it all. My mouth was having a party. Too much food excitement in an hour.

Tasting #5

Cajun fried fish and grits. It was a moment of sadness for me. I knew the tasting came to an end, but what a way to end it. The grits were nice and creamy and the fish was fried just the way i like it. You could taste the cajun spices and perfectly seasoned batter. Overall is was truly an experience.

I manged to snap a few pictures.  If you are in Jenkintown be sure to stop by Southern Belle. Follow them on Instagram and Like them on facebook.

Until next time!
